Page Engagement

Page Engagement is the total count of interactions people have with a social media page and its posts. Interactions include likes, reactions, comments, shares, reposts, and link clicks, depending on the platform. The metric shows whether your content gets a response, not just whether people see it. Platforms tend to show more of the content people interact with, so Page Engagement helps you decide which topics, formats, and posting times deserve more effort.

Referrals

Referrals is a count of potential customers directed to your product by an existing customer, influencer, or external source. Referral tracking helps identify which channels and advocates drive the highest-quality inbound interest, informing where to invest in growth programs. Referred prospects typically convert at higher rates and churn less than those from paid channels.

Sales Qualified Leads

A Sales Qualified Lead (SQL) represents a prospect who has progressed beyond initial marketing engagement and demonstrates genuine potential for conversion. Unlike Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) that indicate early interest, SQLs have been vetted by sales professionals and meet specific criteria that suggest a higher likelihood of becoming a paying customer. These leads sit strategically in the middle of your sales funnel, having moved past the awareness stage but not yet reached the final purchase decision point.

Sessions

A session is a group of user interactions with a website that occur within a defined timeframe. Analytics platforms define a session as a period of continuous engagement that begins when a user arrives and ends after 30 minutes of inactivity or when the user leaves. Each session can contain multiple interactions, including page views, events, downloads, form submissions, and e-commerce transactions. Sessions are fundamental to understanding user behaviour patterns and website performance, capturing the complete journey a user takes during a single visit.

Website Event Value

Website Event Value is a metric that assigns a numeric score to user interactions on a website to measure their relative worth to the business. Marketing teams use it to compare interactions, prioritize high-value behaviours, and connect website activity to business outcomes.

Website New Users

New Users represents the count of unique individuals visiting your website for the first time during a specified measurement period. Google Analytics identifies new users through client IDs—unique identifiers automatically assigned when someone first visits your site. This identification system relies primarily on browser cookies, though GA4 has enhanced this with additional signals including Google account information (when available) and device fingerprinting to improve accuracy across sessions and devices. A user is classified as "new" until Google Analytics can match them to a previous visit through these persistent identifiers.
