Activation Rate

Activation Rate helps companies determine how quickly and effectively their new users are achieving perceived value. It measures the number of new users that have performed a predetermined “key action” within a set period of time, where the key action is assumed or known to deliver initial customer value.

Apdex Levels

Apdex Levels group users into categories of satisfaction with the response time of web applications and services. These levels are defined as satisfied, tolerating or frustrated depending on their response time in comparison to a threshold.

Apdex Score

Apdex Score is a measure of users' satisfaction with the response time of web applications or services. The Apdex Score is a value between 0 and 1, calculated based on three Apdex Score levels of user satisfaction: frustrated, tolerating, or satisfied.

Average Basket Size

Average Basket Size (ABS) is an ecommerce metric that measures the average number of items purchased per transaction. It is calculated by dividing the total number of units sold by the total number of transactions over a given period. ABS helps businesses understand whether customers are buying more or fewer items each time they place an order. Average Basket Size is also a key input for calculating Average Order Value (AOV) when combined with Average Selling Price (ASP), helping teams distinguish whether revenue changes are driven by quantity, pricing, or both.

Average Purchase Frequency

Average Purchase Frequency is the average number of times a customer makes a purchase within a defined period. It measures how often customers return to buy, helping businesses understand purchase patterns, inform loyalty strategy, and improve customer lifetime value.

Average Revenue Per Paying User

Average Revenue Per Paying User (ARPPU) is a key performance indicator (KPI) that measures the average revenue generated from each user who has made at least one purchase within a specific time period. Unlike Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), which includes all users (both paying and non-paying), ARPPU focuses specifically on the paying customer base. This metric provides a crucial insight into the value of a business's paying customers and their spending behaviour. It is especially useful for subscription-based models, e-commerce, mobile apps, and other businesses where a distinction exists between free users and those who generate revenue. By tracking ARPPU, a company can better understand its monetization efficiency and the effectiveness of its pricing strategies.

Customer Acquisition Cost Ratio

Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) Ratio is a sales and marketing efficiency metric that measures the return on investment from customer acquisition efforts. It calculates how many dollars of new subscription revenue (adjusted for gross margin) a company generates for each dollar spent on sales and marketing. Unlike simple revenue multiples, CAC Ratio accounts for the actual profit economics of delivering the service by incorporating gross margin, providing a more accurate picture of unit economics and capital efficiency.

Customer Health Score

A Customer Health Score is a single, calculated number that reflects a customer's health across multiple dimensions. By monitoring Customer Health Scores, you can detect early signals of increased friction or declining customer engagement, and identify highly engaged clients who would make excellent advocates.

Customer Retention Rate

Customer Retention Rate is the percentage of existing customers a business keeps from one period to the next, excluding newly acquired customers.

Customer Satisfaction

CSAT is a measure of how satisfied customers are with a company's products or services, most often collected through a survey. It captures customer perception at a specific point in time and is one of the most widely tracked customer experience metrics because it is simple to collect, easy to interpret, and flexible enough to apply at both a granular and aggregate level.

Daily Active Accounts

Daily Active Accounts measures the number of unique accounts with at least one user who interacted with an application or platform in a given day. An active account may include one or more users, each with varying degrees of activity.

Daily Active Users

Daily Active Users (DAU) is the count of unique users who interact with an application or platform on a given day. DAU measures daily engagement and includes both new and returning users. Unique users are identified by a username, email address, or user ID, and active users can be paying or non-paying.
