Burn Rate

Burn Rate is the speed at which a company spends its cash reserves, typically measured monthly or as a percentage change in net spending. Startups use it to monitor how quickly they draw down external funding, estimate cash runway, and prepare for future fundraising. It can be calculated as Gross Burn Rate or Net Burn Rate.

CAC Payback Period

CAC Payback Period is the number of months a company needs to recover its customer acquisition costs through revenue generated by new customers. It combines Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Net New MRR, and Gross Margin percentage to measure go-to-market efficiency. The shorter the payback period, the faster a company recycles growth capital.

Cash Conversion Score

Cash Conversion Score is used by investors to measure the return on invested capital for startups. It is calculated by dividing current ARR by the difference between total raised capital and cash on hand. Essentially, this metric gives the return on each dollar invested in a company.

Charges

Charges represent the total amount of customer payments processed through your payment gateway, net of refunds, disputes, and reversals. Depending on the payment platform, Charges may be reported before or after processing fees; in analytics and finance contexts, this metric is often aligned with net charges collected rather than gross payment volume. Charges reflect the actual value of customer payments successfully processed and retained through a payment system.

Charges Count

Changes Count measures the total number of Charges you have made to your customers. Use this metric to have an overall view of how many payments you have accepted from your customers for the products or services you sold.

Cost Per AI-Resolved Task

Cost Per AI-Resolved Task is the fully loaded cost to complete one task using an AI system, including compute, infrastructure, and human review expenses. Token costs alone dramatically understate true cost; human review is often the largest component.

Customer Concentration

Customer Concentration measures the percentage of total revenue generated by a single customer or a group of top customers, revealing the company's dependency on key accounts and associated revenue risk. High concentration indicates that losing one or a few customers could significantly impact the business, while low concentration suggests a more diversified and resilient revenue base.

Customer Retention Rate

Customer Retention Rate is the percentage of existing customers a business keeps from one period to the next, excluding newly acquired customers.

Customers

One of the most fundamental metrics, Customers is the total count of paying patrons of your business. Without paying customers there is no growth and no value in your business. To accurately assess your customer base, it's important to track new and returning customers as they play a different role in your business. New Customers refer to users who just signed up or made their first purchase with your company while Returning Customers are those who have already made a purchase in the past.

DAU Growth Rate

DAU Growth Rate is the percentage change in Daily Active Users (DAU) over a defined period. It measures how quickly an active user base is expanding and can indicate the effectiveness of sales and marketing efforts, product-market fit, and overall engagement health.

Decision Velocity

Decision Velocity is the average time between a business question being asked and a decision being made on it. Used to measure whether AI and analytics tools are actually shortening the path from data to action.

Deviation from Target Churn Rate

Deviation from Target Churn Rate measures the gap between your forecasted or actual churn rate and your target churn rate for a specific period, providing an early warning system to identify when churn is trending above acceptable levels and enabling proactive intervention before revenue loss occurs.
