Sales Cycle Length

Sales Cycle Length is the count of the number of days or months it takes on average to close a deal. This metric can be helpful when creating sales forecasts, measuring sales efficiency, and speaking with investors. It is often referred to as the Average Deal Cycle and is usually expressed in months.

Scrap Rate

Scrap Rate is the ratio of discarded units or material to the total production run, expressed as a percentage. It includes both waste material and production rejects — any output that cannot be used or sold. Scrap Rate is one of the most important quality metrics in manufacturing, typically measured in units, pieces, weight, or volume. Tracking and reducing Scrap Rate lowers raw material costs, improves throughput, and reduces industrial waste.

Sessions per User

Sessions per User counts the average number of sessions initiated by each user or visitor to your website/application. This metric is mainly used to determine how frequently users return to your website or app.

Sign Up Rate

Sign Up Conversion Rate measures the percentage of your website visitors that convert or sign up in response to your marketing campaign. This conversion metric is used to specifically measure how many people respond by signing up out of all the people that have seen your call-to-action.

The Rule of 40

The Rule of 40 is a SaaS financial metric that balances revenue growth versus profit margins. It’s a rule of thumb to quickly determine the health and/or attractiveness of your SaaS company.

Ticket Reopen Rate

Ticket Reopen Rate (RR) is the percentage of resolved support tickets that customers reopen, signalling the issue was not fully resolved. Tracking this metric gives support teams a direct measure of resolution quality. A rising reopen rate can point to gaps in agent training, product knowledge, or escalation processes. Left unaddressed, it erodes customer trust and increases support volume.

Ticket Resolution Rate

Ticket Resolution Rate is the percentage of support tickets resolved out of the total number received in a given period. It measures how effectively a customer service team closes incoming tickets, reflecting both staffing capacity and agent efficiency. A rate below 100% means tickets are accumulating; a rate above 100% means the team is working through backlog in addition to new volume.

Time to Fill

Time to Fill measures the complete duration from when a position becomes available until it is successfully filled with an accepted candidate. This comprehensive metric captures the entire talent acquisition lifecycle, including job approval processes, posting periods, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, decision-making, and offer acceptance. As a foundational HR metric, Time to Fill serves as a barometer of organisational hiring efficiency, market competitiveness, and recruitment process effectiveness. It provides critical insights into resource allocation needs, process bottlenecks, and market conditions that directly impact business operations and strategic planning.

Time to Hire

Time to Hire measures the duration between when a selected candidate first enters your hiring pipeline and when they accept your job offer. This metric evaluates your organisation's speed and efficiency in moving preferred candidates through the hiring process, serving as a critical indicator of HR execution capability, competitive market positioning, and talent acquisition effectiveness. Unlike Time to Fill, which measures the complete recruitment cycle from job posting to offer acceptance, Time to Hire specifically focuses on how quickly you can secure top talent once they've been identified.

Total Funding

Total Funding is the cumulative amount of external capital a company has raised across all financing rounds, from seed through late-stage investment.

Trial Conversion Rate

Trial Conversion Rate measures the percentage of users that have converted to a paid account from a trial period. Commonly referred to as Free Trial to Paid Conversion Rate, this metric indicates product value by measuring the number of users that find enough value in the product to pay for it. Trial Conversion Rates vary based on the type of trial you use. In SaaS, the standard practice is to either have a freemium product or a free trial period that usually spans a couple weeks.

Video Click-Through Rate

Video Click-Through Rate (CTR) is the percentage of video impressions that result in a click to play. It measures how effectively your thumbnail, title, and presentation convert impressions into viewer engagement.
