Cost Per Thousand
Cost Per Thousand (CPM) is the price an advertiser pays for 1,000 ad impressions on a webpage or digital platform. Also called Cost Per Mille, CPM is one of the most widely used pricing models in digital advertising. It measures how much an advertiser spends to reach 1,000 people, making it a standard benchmark for comparing the cost-efficiency of campaigns across channels and audiences.
Cost Per Unique Click
Cost Per Unique Click is the average amount spent for each unique click on an advertisement, counting each person only once regardless of how many times they click. Unique clicks typically include link clicks, profile page visits, engagement actions such as likes and shares, and clicks to expand or view media.
Cost Per Unique Inline Link Click
Cost Per Unique Inline Link Click is the average amount of money spent per unique click on links contained in advertisements. It is calculated by dividing the sum of the money spent on ads by the total number of unique clicks on the links within the ads and is a variation of Cost Per Click (CPC).
Cost Per View (CPV)
Cost Per View (CPV) is the average amount an advertiser pays each time a user actively watches or engages with a video ad, calculated by dividing total campaign cost by verified views. CPV is used to measure the efficiency of video advertising spend and the effectiveness of ad creative in capturing audience attention.
Post Impressions
Post Impressions is the total number of times a post appeared in user timelines or feeds. It measures visibility only — it does not confirm that anyone read, clicked, or engaged with the content. Post Impressions is a total count, not a unique count, so the same user seeing a post multiple times generates multiple impressions. It is important to distinguish Post Impressions from Post Reach, which counts unique users only.
Post Shares
Post Shares is the total number of times a post was shared across social media platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, or Pinterest. A share extends a post's visibility beyond its original audience. It is an active engagement metric used to gauge how strongly content resonates with an audience.
Return on Ad Spend
Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) is a marketing metric that quantifies the total revenue generated for every dollar spent on advertising. In other words, ROAS measures the effectiveness of your advertising efforts by comparing total ad spend on campaigns to the revenue from those campaigns.
Search Impression Share
Search Impression Share (SIS) is the percentage of impressions an ad campaign, ad group, or keyword wins out of the total impressions it was eligible to receive. Budget, keyword selection, audience targeting, region, and scheduling all affect eligibility.
Search Lost Impression Share (Budget)
Search Lost Impression Share (Budget) is the percentage of Search Impression Share lost out of the total eligible impressions, due to campaign budget. It is generally measured at the campaign level on digital advertising platforms.
Search Lost Impression Share (Rank)
Search Lost Impression Share (Rank) is the percentage of search impression share lost due to Ad Rank, which depends on factors such as relevant keywords, ad quality, and bid amount.
Spend to Maximize Impression Share
Spend to Maximize Impression Share describes the investment level or budget an ad campaign needs to maximize Search Impression Share with its current targeting settings. It is based on the idea that an ad campaign’s spend or budget controls the frequency with which an ad is displayed.
Video Click-Through Rate
Video Click-Through Rate (CTR) is the percentage of video impressions that result in a click to play. It measures how effectively your thumbnail, title, and presentation convert impressions into viewer engagement.
